Ever since the Gay Super Bowl's inception in Los Angeles in the spring of 2002, teams from all around the country come together to compete, each representing their respective cities. Currently there are approximately 20 cities in the United States that have a national flag football team in the Gay Bowl tournament, held annually over Columbus day weekend.
The PHOENIX HELLRAISERS competed in all Gaybowls since the tournament in 2005 held in San Diego, California. Each year, the team has steadily improved with the ever increasing talent and skill set of our membership, and are pleased with the results of the tournament held in Salt Lake City this past October. A recap of the event can be found in the recap section of the website and pictures are similary posted in the photographic section. We want to thank everyone that came out to support us, as it would not have been possible otherwise.
The next gaybowl will be held in Washington DC over Columbus day weekend, October 9th-11th, 2009. Details about the event will be posted on the official NGFFL website as they become available.
The following video is courtsey of Cyd Zeigler Jr, one of the founders of Outsports and a player on the New York Warriors. He had some interesting comments and thoughts from Gaybowl VIII in Salt Lake City, and gave all the PHOENIX HELLRAISERS a great shoutout, so I thought I would post it here. As with all our website videos, your web browser must have scripts enabled and have flash player installed in order to view the video content.
