League Information

This January 2008 will mark a first for the city of Phoenix, the first ever gay flag football league!  The league will follow the traditional NGFFL format, playing 7 on 7 flag football.  The league currently features 4 teams: Plazma Playaz (grey), Friends Fury (green), Kobalt Titans (red), and Apollo's Hitmen (blue).  The PHOENIX HELLRAISERS organization will provide the fields, flags, and footballs, so talk to your friends, get excited, and be sure to signup.  Be sure to note, league registration closes on Friday, February 15^th, 2008.

To kick off the league, a players clinic will be held on December 29^th at noon at Madison Park.  This is an informal event where new players can meet each other and get a feel for what the league will be like.

Player evaluations for the first ever gay flag football league in Phoenix will be held January 5^th and January 12^th at 10:00 AM at Madison Park.  Directions to Madison Park can be found here.  Evaluations will help gauge the ability level of everyone that has registered for the league and will be used to organize the draft, so be sure to attend one of those Saturdays if possible.  This way, each team will have a quarterback and will ensure all teams are competitive.  Be sure to note that everyone that comes to the player evaluations or wants to play is guaranteed to be on a team and play in the league.

The draft will follow the evaluations where the captains will select players for their respective teams.  The player draft will be held on Monday, January 14^th at Kobalt at 6:30 pm, being a captains only event.  Three members of the PHOENIX HELLRAISERS leadership will be present to ensure that everything is done fairly.  The draft will be announced at the draft party, held on Wednesday, January 16^th at Plazma at 7:00 pm.  Be sure to bring a friends as this will be a fun event, with dollar drafts for the draft party and everyone will find out what team they will be playing on.

There will be an optional practice on Saturday, January 19^th at Madison Park at 10:00 am, which will allow players to start practicing with their new teams.

League play with start January 26^th, with 6 weeks of play and culminating in the tournament on March 15^th.  All league matches will be played at Colter Park, located just north of Camelback Road and 7^th Avenue.  A map and detailed directions can be found here.

The registration deadline is Saturday, January 12^th, 2008, with an associated players fee of $20 per person.  Late registration starts Sunday, January 13^th and continues until Friday, February 15^th, 2008, with an associated players fee of $25 per person.  If the league has already started and you still want to join the league, that will not be a problem as long as you register before Feburary 15^th.  Don't fret; we will still find you a team to play on.  The registration/player fee may be paid online using PayPal or via check/cash during the player evaluations.  Please make checks payable to the Phoenix Hellraisers.  The players fee goes toward the field fees, equipment, league t-shirts, and other costs.

Along with registration, you will need to fill out the injury release and code of conduct agreement.  Please bring these completed forms and the associated players fee to the evaluations, as you will not be able to play if we do not have the appropriate releases forms signed.
