Tournament Fundraisers

We have many exciting events coming up on our team calendar, including but not limited to a kickball tournament, bachelor auction, drag shows, wet underwear contests, and other fun events. Be sure to come out and support us during these fundraising events, as it helps defray the cost of our tournament season and allows us to compete nationally.

Volunteering

The Hellraisers had a great time volunteering for the Saguaro Cup, helping the Cactus Cities softball league with their event on the weekend of April 4- 6, 2008. The following weekend, we asked everyone to participate in Phoenix Pride, where the league entered in a float. I would like to thank everyone that helped out, as you made both events extremely successful!

Inagural League Wrap-up

Thanks to everyone who came out and participated in the inaugural season of the Phoenix Hellraisers flag football league. It was a fantastic season, with the Apollo's Hitmen coming back from a 0-3 record to win the title. To cap off this season, the entire league will be participating in a bar crawl with awards being handed out at each sponsor bar. If you missed our inaugural season, be sure to look out for future Hellraisers events, and start thinking about the team you want to play with next season!

Superbowl Party

The Hellraisers celebrated the superbowl at Friends, which had a great turnout form all the league teams and was a lot of fun. We would like to thank everyone that came out for this memorable event.

Inagural League

The inaugural season of the Hellraisers flag football league is coming January 26th. Player evaluations for the league will be held January 5th and January 12th, so get excited and tell all your friends! Team Practice

Just a quick reminder, our last practice of the winter season before we break for the holidays will be on Saturday, December 15th at noon. We wish everyone safe travels during the holiday season and we will see everyone on December 29th for players clinic and the following two weeks for the start of league evaluations.

Our last recruitment event at BS West was extremely successful, having an excellent turnout from the team and had many people showed an interest in gay sports and playing football with us. We would like to extend a thank everyone who came out to support the team, as we would not exist without your constant generosity.

Holiday Party

The Hellraisers holiday party was held on December 15th at 7:00 pm at Emmanuel's house. Thank you to everyone that broght a toy to donate to Toys for Tots. The marines appreciated your donations and made sure they went to many deserving children. Photos of the event will be posted soon in the photo section, so stay tuned.

Gaybowl VII

The gay super bowl was this past October 4th in New York City. The Phoenix Hellraisers had a difficult draw, playing the San Diego, Atlanta, Washington, and then the Texas Bulls. The team did very well, almost beating the Atlanta team and securing a victory over the Bulls. More details of the event will be posted in the recap section and pictures are now available.

Fall Wrap Up Party

The fall season/gaybowl wrap up party held at Jim Cook's house on November 10th was lots of fun. For everyone that missed this great event, we grilled burgers, hot dogs, and chicken, and had fun recounting stories of the superbowl. A slide show of all the photos was distributed to the team along with individual awards. The slide show can be seen in the photos section of the website. If you were not able to attend, be sure to contact Aaron in order to get a copy of the slide show and receive your award. Thanks to everyone that attended and helped make this event a smashing success!

Winter Practices

The beginning practices of the winter season will be November 3rd, and will be held every Saturday at 10:00 am at Madison Park. We will be concentrating on recruiting for the inaugural league starting this January, so bring out a friend and/or talk to people about starting your own team! To this end, we will be having many new recruiting events so be sure to check the events page frequently for more details.

San Diego Scrimmage

The team scrimmage against San Diego's teams on September 15th, in San Diego went very well. We played against 3 different teams, which gave us good experience and a feel for the competition we saw in New York. It was especially helpful for us considering our first game in the gaybowl was against the San Diego team that made it to the championships! A special thanks goes out to the San Diego teams for hosting us and making it a fun and memorable weekend. Pictures of the event can be seen on our photos page.
